Roses among the Thorns.

Thorn's...of Life....

I have had plenty of thorns
in my life..among many of
rose bushes..
And have scar's from some of them..
And sometimes it is hard to see
those scar's as beauty marks..
but other times I am proud of the
lessons Ive learnt from my thorns..
And hopefully from my experiences
I can help someone enjoy the pleasant
scent of beautiful roses...
and avoid as many scar's..

Dear God..
I have thanked you a thousand times for
my ROSES of life, but never once for
the thorns.
Teach me the value of my thorns.
Teach me the glory of the cross I bear.
Show me that I have gotten closer to
you through my pain and show me that
through my tears the color of your
rainbow looks more brilliant than before.
Thank you for the Roses of life,
but thank you for the thorns as well..
And being there with me through them all.
Amen..

Karen I know those thorns so well, your post made me cry today...a good cry...I have never prayed for an easy life but the strength to get through my hardships, but I have never thanked him until today. You have a beautiful family. love all the pictures, and your blog, love the fall look. blessings to you.

Sad, but so many people can't get past the thorns. Your article would be a great encouragement to them to hang in there. Good post.

Amen. Everything that happened to me as a child has made me who I am today and it's just in the past few years that I've learned to really thank God for all that happened instead of asking "why". I don't know who I would be without the thorns--maybe better, maybe worse but I like who I am with them. Thanks for another apropos post. Take care.

Wow Karen . . . I needed to pray this prayer today. I have encountered one of life's "thorns" recently and still feel the piercing pain. I needed to be reminded that not only is God aware of them, but that He can bring beauty from them. I thank Him endlessly that He is with me through it all.
Love and prayers,
Cherie

It has to be Daddy's timing again in speaking another confirmation through you to me and others. Just last night I was passing through my house and had to stop and look around as I laughed out my thanksgiving. I can remember a time when where I am, where I live, what I have and who I have was all but a distant dream. Now I'm living in that dream from so many years ago, but it came after crawling through a LOT of thorns with tears and brokenness. I'm now onto a bigger dream, but thanks to His speaking through you, my move on is with praise and thanksgiving.
Thanks for another awesome post! Have a wonderful day Girl! See you soon,
I love you dearly,
xoxo,
Ellen

Its true, we have to embrace the thorns as much as we do the roses that produce them. This is a great metaphor and one that is worth remembering.

Beautiful prayer. I'm looking forward to the day when the pain isn't so great that I can pray it too!

God bless you!

What a thought Karen! It's often through the "thorns" that we learn more of the LORD! We often *need* those "thorns" to grow in our faith and in maturity as believers. May the LORD give us all the grace day by day to embrace ALL that HE gives...for our good, and HIS glory!

Blessings to you!
In Him,
Camille
