Ok Ladies..

I always tease God about
how he needs to put the dots
real close together for me..
And he is always gracious
to do that.. And this time
was no different..

Last week was a rough week for me.
I allowed myself to get so caught up in the
troubles of life around me, (work, kids, finances,
etc..) and I know better than to do that.
I have Colitis and Stress is a big factor for me,
wither I get down sick or not.. And I did.

But I had asked you ladies about Balancing your
lives..And how to handle it when things seem to be
coming down all around you.. And not only did
you ladies give me your feed back.. But God started
speaking loud and clear for me as well..
All through the weekend including this morning, he
was telling my what i needed to do..

Our pastor preached on "Job" Sunday..
How when Satan opened his attach on him,
he still stayed loyal to God and did not doubt him.
Even when he had lost EVERYTHING,
AND EVERYONE in his life other than his wife,,
and she told him "just to curse God and die",,
so she wasnt any help.
But he said," naked I came to this earth, naked i will leave"..
(we come with nothing, and leaving with nothing,
the important thing is what we did while we
were here, did we serve Gods purpose ?)

Then he kept putting the story of Lazarus ,
Martha and Mary in my face.. About how
Martha worried about all the things she had
to do around her, while Mary sat at the feet
of Jesus , and learnt from the Teacher himself.

Then again THIS MORNING, in my devotional time
It was another story of Martha and Mary..
(What are the chances? )
in a Joyce Meyers Daily Devotional.
and the last paragraph says this..

My problem was that I was all Martha and no
Mary. I loved Jesus, but I had not learned about
the simple life He desired me to live. The answer,
I discovered , was rooted in Faith, discovering what
it means to sit at the feet of Jesus, Listen to His words
and Trust God with all my heart and soul .

OMG ! Then the light bulb went off..
Regardless of the circumstance , like
Job...do not doubt Gods ability to handle it
and know that even in the midst of it all
HE IS THERE WITH ME,, AND TO GET
THROUGH IT,,, I SHOULD SURRENDER
MY BUSYNESS AND SIT AT HIS FEET,
AND LET MY FAITH IN HIM BE ALL
I NEED..

Jeremiah 29:11.. For I know the plans I have for
you ,,declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you,
to give you hope and a future..

I WILL WAKE UP EVERYDAY
AND STRIVE TO BE MARY,,
not Martha...

Great post! Thank you for sharing it. I too have to work on being a Mary and not a Martha. And Jeremiah 29:11 is such great verse. I hope that you have a great week!

Love this post!! I think we all get so caught up with 'life' that we don't always take the time to listen to His words like we should. A lot of us are guilty of being more like Martha than Mary but all we can do is keep trying to be more like Mary! God never leaves us and is always there waiting for us to listen. He is so patient! lol

I love that last verse! I had it put on a little coin purse. It's a great reminder that even when we don't know what is going on in our own life that God has it taken care of!

Karen,
I just have to say that I love your blog. It's amazing that some of the things I am going through are just what you are posting about--and reading here helps me work through these things. I hope you are feeling better this week. Take care.

Karen...so cool...It's 9:45 p.m. PST tonight as I'm reading this..This will be a perfect end to this day :) :) :) When you are talking about Mary and Martha...it reminded me of this book/Bible study that I bought recently (but haven't started it yet) called "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" :) :) :) It's supposed to be really good. I've yet to finish a Bible study on the Gospel of John first, then I'll start reading that book...or maybe I'll start it early..not sure :) :) :) It's always good to remember to sit at the feet of Jesus no matter what situation we find ourselves in!!! Have a lovely week. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
