A Mothers Prayer

Never under estimate the power
that comes when a parent pleads
with God on behalf of a child.

Who knows how many prayers
are being answered right now
because of the faithful ponderings
of a parent from ten or twenty
year ago?

If what we are doing, in this
fast pace society, is taking us away
from prayer time for our children,
we're doing too much.
There is nothing more special ,
more precious than time that a
parent spends struggling
and pondering with God
on behalf of their child.

As a mother comforts her
child, so will I comfort you ,
and you will be comforted
over Jerusalem
Isaiah 66:13

I'm so glad you found my blog, Karen! I love your family story . . . what a testimony to God's amazing love and power! This post was a great reminder to me . . . I often times get "looked at funny" when my life doesn't seem to match up with the "busy fully active" life style of others. My boys are involved in a few wonderful activities and serving in the community . . . but for the most part, I try to manage our time so that we are able to live peaceful lives according to God's plan. I stand by and watch as life hurrily passes others by . . . meanwhile, I'm praying, spending time with my Savior and savoring each moment I have as a mother. It is such a blessing.
I'll be stopping by more often!
Blessings,
Cherie

Dear Karen ~ I *love* this post! Thanks for sharing the poem and thoughts. I appreciated the "you are too busy if you don't have time to pray" part! A story about prayers being answered years later to share...

My husband's great grandma prayed for her children (and presumably their children) and didn't see the "fruit" in her lifetime. Now a few generations later I can tell you that many of her descendants are following the LORD...how PRECIOUS it is!! Keep on praying!

Blessings,
Camille
