Desires of the Heart

Consider this profound
passage from James
as he posed the most
popular marriage
counseling question
of all time.
"What causes fights
and quarrels among you?"
(James 4:1)
He goes on , "Dont they
come from your desires
that battle within you?
You want something
but dont get it.
You kill and covet, but
you cannot have what
you want. You quarrel
and fight."

Human tendency is to blame your spouse as the cause for
your own feelings of emptiness, anger and bitterness.
James does the very opposite;
He points the believer inward to the
Desires of the Heart.

Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the
Desires of your Heart.
Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him and
he will do this.
Psalms 37:4,5
